Residence: Bedford, TX
I was born in München, Germany and relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 1991 at the age of 14. Shortly thereafter, and with the help of a 9600bps modem, I discovered the digital world of bulletin board systems and have been online ever since. I built my first webpages in college, during a time where the internet was like a disco, everyone’s pages where loud, blindingly colorful and loaded with dancing .gifs.
My first job as a web site developer was in 2001 with halfpricebooks.com, where I learned a great deal about ecommerce and real world programming. In 2004 I went to work for the City of Bedford where I redesigned their web site and continued to maintain their online presence until 2013. Working in public information I was also responsible for creating city magazines, newsletters, and brochures. And while I’ve built a good working knowledge of building and marketing websites and print media, I’m still excited to see and learn what’s to come next for the digital world.
While I enjoy digital photography and using programs like Adobe Photoshop to develop prints my greater passion is still with film photography and the darkroom process of developing film and prints. I’m an avid reader and my favorite author is Philip K. Dick, whose books I collect. I enjoy going to used book stores to find various editions and covers of his work that I don’t already have. I also enjoy watching football (aka soccer) and my two favorite teams are FC Bayern München from the Bundesliga in Germany and Newcastle Untied from the Premier league in England.
